I’m Mónica, the hands that make and the thinking head of laMardeSeda.
From a very young age I have been interested in: crafts and art and design and drawing… to the point of graduating in architecture and practicing for a while.
A few years later I rediscover the textile world. At home I have seen sewing, crocheting, embroidering… All kinds of fabrics: velvets, crepes, organza are part of my childhood. I am Mónica, the hands that make and the thinking head of laMardeSeda.
And I rediscover silk, that great blank canvas… and thus, between brushes, paints, thickeners, guttas… my artisan workshop laMardeSeda was born.
A refuge that is sometimes orderly and other times chaotic, but full of light, music and colour.
I like to think that I don’t just paint silk, that I offer you a handmade and unique piece, an added value based on traditional techniques and also on experimentation, using techniques that respect the properties and characteristics of the fabric: fluidity, shine, delicate texture…
And above all based on the quality of the craft process and design. To offer you pieces adapted to current trends, designs full of color. The result: a unique, original and exclusive piece.
